Family Child Care
Family Child Care (FCC) is a Program that oversees the care of children in affiliated on-base or off-base homes, and certifies applicants who wish to operate a home-based child care facility under base jurisdiction. It provides ongoing support and resources to providers, and advertises the program within the Offutt community. Offutt's FCC Providers are well-trained professionals who provide quality child care for children ages 2 weeks to 12 years. While care is available during normal duty hours, it can also be available 24 hrs a day. It is aimed at accommodating parents who work shifts, rotating shifts, alerts, weekends, extended duty, or who have a child requiring specialized care. Parents seeking a provider or anyone interested in becoming a FCC provider may call the Family Child Care Office at (402) 294-9016.

Child Care Requirement:
Any individual caring for other families' children for more than 10 hours a week on a regular basis must be licensed to provide care in privatized housing. This does not include: individuals who occasionally provide care for a friend or neighbor or providing babysitting on an occasional basis for other families, teenagers doing evening or weekend baby-sitting, nanny care in parent's home, parent cooperatives where no fees are involved; and temporary full time care of a child during a parent's absence for temporary duty of deployment by the person listed on the AF Form 357, Family Care Plan. Call the Family Child Care coordinators at 294-9016 for more information.
