Family Child Care
Family Child Care (FCC) is a Program that oversees the care of children in affiliated on-base or off-base homes,and certifies applicants who wish to operate a home-based child care facility under base jurisdiction. It provides ongoing support and resources to providers, and advertises the program within the Offutt community. Offutt's FCC Providers are well-trained professionals who provide quality child care for children ages 2 weeks to 12 years. While care is available during normal duty hours, it can also be available 24 hrs a day. It is aimed at accommodating parents who work shifts, rotating shifts, alerts, weekends, extended duty, or who have a child requiring specialized care. Parents seeking a provider or anyone interested in becoming a FCC provider may call the Family Child Care Office at (402) 294-9016.
Child Care Requirement:
Any individual caring for other families' children for more than 10 hours a week on a regular basis must be licensed to provide care in privatized housing. This does not include: individuals who occasionally provide care for a friend or neighbor or providing babysitting on an occasional basis for other families, teenagers doing evening or weekend baby-sitting, nanny care in parent's home, parent cooperatives where no fees are involved; and temporary full time care of a child during a parent's absence for temporary duty of deployment by the person listed on the AF Form 357, Family Care Plan. Give Parents a Break provides an afternoon of free childcare for children ages 6 months to 10 years. The next date is June 3 from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m. at CDC 1. Parents must have a referral certificate. Reservations close May 31 at 12 p.m. This program is funded by the Air Force Aid Society and is open to Air Force Active Duty, Guard and Reserve families. Call 294-2203 for details.
