Youth Programs
Offutt’s Youth Programs offers sports, classes, social events, school-age programs, summer camps, specialty camps, peer counseling, and relocation/transi­tion support for children ages 5 – 18 years old. Parents must register their children and pay an annual $40 Mem­bership Fee. The year-round sports program includes soccer, baseball, flag-football, basketball. Classes are also offered in gymnastics & Tae Kwon Do. Youth Programs and the Youth Center (Bldg 5085) are located by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service Shoppette in Capehart Housing. Youth Basketball League for Grades 3-6, 294-5152

Youth Basketball League
Youth Programs is taking registrations for basketball for boys and girls in grades 3 - 6. This is a recreational league designed to teach basketball fundamentals, good sportsmanship, and to have fun! Registration is open through Nov. 1. A current physical & shot record are required prior to sign up. Practices begin the week of Nov. 6 and games begin on Dec. 2. Practices are held once per week at the discretion of the coaches. Volunteer coaches are always needed! Cost is $40 for YP members, $45 for non-members and $50 for all others. The Omaha Mavericks are holding a basketball clinic for children in grades K - 6 Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Offutt Field House! Give Parents a Break 10/14, 294-2203

Give Parents a Break
Give Parents a Break provides an afternoon of free childcare for children ages 6 months to 10 years. The next date is Oct. 14 from 12:30 - 5:30 p.m. at CDC 1. Parents must have a referral certificate. Reservations close Oct. 11 at 12 p.m. This program is funded by the Air Force Aid Society and is open to Air Force Active Duty, Guard and Reserve families. Start Smart Soccer is a six week program that introduces children age 3 – 5 to the fundamentals of soccer! Cost is $45 for military and $55 for non-military. Congressional Award Program
The Congressional Award Program promotes and recognizes the achievements of young Americans age 14 – 24 by challenging youth to set and achieve personally-challenging goals. Those interested in joining the program can register at Youth Programs when they are 13 ½ and begin working on activities at 14. Call 294-5152 to learn more!
