The Offutt Enrichment Center offers a part-day preschool program for children 3-5 years of age. The program offers developmentally appropriate curriculum, monthly field trips, and special activities. The hours of operation are Tues. & Thurs. for the 3 yr. olds and Mon., Wed., Fri. for the 4 – 5 yr. olds, from 0900-1200. The philosophy of the Offutt Enrichment Center is based on the belief that children learn through play. They learn through firsthand experiences, by being actively involved in the classroom environment, and by exploring their world. Play allows children to expand their thinking and language, encourages creativity, and offers opportunities to learn self-discipline. The teachers prepare an activity/lesson plan every week where they outline fun learning activities for the children. These activities are based on observations of children’s interests and developmental needs. |
